Over the years, the combination of overfishing, anchoring in key areas of our marine ecosystems, mass tourism and the amount of waste that ends up in the sea has damaged Menorca's natural marine environment.
The principal areas of interest of the Menorca Preservation Fund are marine conservation and waste management. The foundation aims to support any local initiatives working in these areas and, in particular, to implement community awareness campaigns that highlight the issues and opportunities associated with the development of a sustainable waste management and marine conservation strategy for the island.
