Carquinyols are one of the most popular products in Menorcan confectionery. Their name comes from 'craquinyar', a synonym of the verb 'to crunch'. They are dry, crunchy and sweet pastries that boast a longstanding tradition on our island. There are different ways of making this product, but there is one ingredient that is common to all of them: almonds. It is a pastry that traditionally used to be eaten at festive times, but nowadays it tends to be eaten at any time of the year.
