Camí de Cavalls

Camí de Cavalls

The Camí de Cavalls is an ancient path that traces nearly 185 kilometres around the perimeter of Menorca. Its origins date back to the 14th century, when it was used to patrol the coast and protect the island from possible invasions. Today, it has become one of Menorca’s most iconic routes and a true symbol of its natural and cultural heritage.

Divided into 20 signposted stages, it can be explored on foot, by bike, or on horseback, revealing hidden coves, cliffs, Mediterranean forests, and rural landscapes. Classified as a Long-Distance Trail (GR-223), the Camí de Cavalls offers more than just a walk: it’s an experience that unites history, nature, and the sea, unveiling the most authentic and wild side of Menorca.

It is advisable to check the weather forecast before setting out.

  •  Always follow the official signage and wear appropriate footwear, as much of the terrain is rocky.
  •  Adapt your clothing to the time of year: in summer, don’t forget a cap, sunscreen and swimsuit.
  •  In winter, try to finish the stage before nightfall and bring a flashlight.
  •  And very importantly: carry enough water and food for the entire route.
