Holy Christ Church

Holy Christ Church

Church built on the initiative of the wool-staplers' guild between 1662 and 1667 to display and venerate the miraculous image of the Holy Christ, which according to tradition was observed to sweat on multiple occasions. It is one of the best examples of Menorcan Baroque architecture of the 17th century. It stands on the former site of a house, which explains its limited size. The revered carving, from the early 17th century, is located in the centre of the 18thcentury altarpiece that presides over the altar.
