Binissuès

THE ESSENCE OF MENORCAN RURAL LIFE

The Binissuès manor house, now transformed into a museum, captures the romantic essence and longing for country life. Visitors will delight in rooms that recreate past eras and an audiovisual that recounts the holidays of the owner's family. The architectural complex spans several eras, from the ancient house, reminiscent of the Egyptian city of Suez, to the 18th century chapel dedicated to La Dolorosa, culminating in a 1908 building offering panoramic views.

The farmhouse preserves the rural life of more than a century ago, with its kitchen and large fireplace as the heart of the home, an old stone oven and a cheese dairy. In addition, a converted barn houses an ethnological collection with objects of agricultural and rural life, including carts and farming tools.

The Natural Science Museum of Menorca in Binissuès stands out with an impressive collection of over 8,000 species, courtesy of naturalists Juan and Miguel Carreras Torrent. Among its treasures are the 225 mushrooms of Menorca and the "Ferreriensis" beetle, named after their town by the Carreras brothers.

Open for visits from Tuesday to Sunday from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm.

Come and enjoy the beauty and history of Binissuès!
