‘Only when it is dark enough can you see the stars. ' This statement made by Martin Luther King is so glaringly accurate but, sadly, it has to be acknowledged that nowadays contemplating the brightness of the stars is increasingly difficult in certain areas and cities. But not in Menorca. Our island, as well as being declared a Biosphere Reserve, has also been recognised as a Starlight Tourist Destination. What does this mean? It means that, from almost any corner of our island, you will be able to look upwards and observe thousands of bright specks of light glittering in the sky at night. This distinction endorses the island's excellent stargazing qualities and its commitment to the protection of its heritage and natural environment.
