The County of Torre-Saura was granted by Ferdinand VII in 1818 to the second branch of the Olives, one of the wealthiest and most prominent families in Menorca. Described by Archduke Ludwig Salvator of Austria as “the most beautiful mansion on the island,” it adopted its current appearance in the 1830s. The main entrance, located on Carrer Major des Born, is marked by an enigmatic veiled face, a romantic symbol of welcome and hospitality. In contrast, the door of the monumental neoclassical façade facing the Plaza del Born, adorned with the family’s noble coat of arms, is the service and carriage entrance.
The stately home retains its original interiors and is open to visitors from May to October.
