Built between 1777 and 1805, at the same time as the new town was being developed. From the old church located in the San Felipe neighborhood, the baptismal font, the silver Lindum crucis, and the altarpiece of the chapel dedicated to Saint Peter (now to the Risen Christ) are preserved.
Its most distinctive feature is its location, situated at the edge of the town. The floor plan is in the shape of a Latin cross with a single nave and five side chapels interconnected by arches that cut through the buttresses, with a main façade in the Neoclassical style. The side façade displays the buttresses rising above the side chapels. In 1805, with the completion of the bell tower, the church was considered finished.
