Built between the 10th and 13th centuries, it stands atop the mountain of the same name, highlighting its importance as one of the most significant defensive complexes of Al-Andalus. Today, its remains are preserved. Its strategic location allowed control of the territory and the northern coastal ports, as well as providing a safe refuge for both authorities and the surrounding rural population in times of emergency.
To visit it, follow the path from Alocs to the old rural schools. From there, a footpath leads to the castle, crossing a Roman-style road of medieval origin.
