Augustinian Convent

Augustinian Convent

A monumental Baroque complex from the 17th and 18th centuries built as a convent for the Augustinian friars' Order. The church is associated with Castilian religious architecture, and the organ in the choir is a work of Josep Casas i Soler. With the confiscation of 1835, the Augustinian friars were expelled from the convent, and in 1858 the Council Seminary was installed. It currently serves as a priestly house, archive and library, guesthouse, and headquarters of the Diocesan Museum.
The complex can be visited during the tourist season, from May to October.
