Arecio Smith

Keyboardist Arecio Smith presents "Shack Man," a project inspired by the music of Medeski, Martin & Wood. The proposal offers a sonic journey navigating between electric jazz, deep funk, and psychedelic improvisation, evoking the unique sound of the New York scene in the nineties.

With an international career that includes collaborations with artists such as Fatoumata Diawara and Andrea Motis, Smith showcases his versatility on the keys—using organ, electric piano, and synthesizers—to faithfully recreate the musical universe of the trio led by John Medeski. The result is an experience that maintains a spirit of improvisation, hypnotic groove, and an open character.
